Coach Regina Elrod
Assistant Coach
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Coach Regina began competing in volleyball, basketball, and track in 5th grade. She excelled in track & field, winning multiple district championships and later earning two state championships in basketball, Catholic League champion and two-time MVP in softball, and multiple state finalist honors in track & field, including a state record in the 4x200m relay.
Background & Coaching Philosophy
Coach Regina graduated valedictorian of Redford Bishop Borgess in 1997 and went on to play college basketball for three years at Oberlin College (Ohio), graduating in 2002.
After working in payroll accounting for three years and relocating to Houston from Philadelphia, she became a teacher and coach in 2006 within Houston ISD, Cinco Ranch, and Morton Ranch junior high. She later became Athletic Director at Morton Ranch Junior High and Head Coach of Track & Field at Morton Ranch High School, leading teams to championships at Area and Regionals, including a 5th place 200 meter runner at UIL State in 2015.
Currently, Regina teaches math and coaches basketball and track & field at Morton Ranch Junior High. She is pursuing her Master’s degree in School Counseling and writing her first novel. She also serves as a mentor and works in ministry. She resides with her husband Maurice and their three children.
